Large Format Photo of the Foreign Settlement, Yokohama Superb photo with shop signs clearly visible
[Japan] One of Kimbei's nicest and most important photos showing part of the foreign settlement in Yokohama on Main Street. On the left we can see signs for the Bible House, The San Bros (general printers, stationers, and book manufacturers), Brett & Co. (dispensary) and on the right G. Schneider (Swiss watches), T. Batchelor (hair dresser and tobacconist), and A&W Cabeldu (tailors & outfitters). In the distance on the left we can just make out a sign for Kelly & Walsh Ltd, and on the right a sign for J. Curnow. Titled, '512 FOREIGN SETTLEMENT YOKOHAMA' in negative at lower right.
