[Japan] Early, albumen print photo showing the Jimpuro brothel in Takashima-cho, Yokohama. Takashima-cho was named after Takashima Kaemon (1832-1914), who helped build Yokohama's first railway line. In 1871, the Yoshiwara red-light district in Yokohama was destroyed by fire and moved to Takashima-cho. Titled in negative at lower right, 'TAKASHIMA-CHO 427'.
