Japanese Photo Album with 50 Photographs Large format, hand-coloured albumen photos
[Japan] A nice, representative, tourist photo album from the 1890s with decorative silk covers. There are a few very nice Yokohama photos, one of Hakodate, Tokyo showing Ryounkaku (which was built in 1890), scenes around the Kanto area including Hakone, Enoshima, Nikko, and daily scenes along with a few portraits of Japanese ladies at the end.

In very good condition. String tie a little broken so front board is a little loose but holding. Photos are tipped in at corners only so are removable. Photos all good to very good, some with minor creasing and creases at corners due to the mounts. Still a nice example of such an album that a visiting Westerner would have purchased as a souvenir. p36101715
