Woodblock Print from 'Thirty Six Tokyo Restaurants' series The Izubun restaurant
[Japan] From the wonderful series by Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900), this woodblock print shows the geisha named Otsuru reading a book. Izubun was a wel-known resturant specialising in miso dengaku (usually a dish served on skewers and dipped in a rich miso sauce).
