Handwritten Letter by Kikou Yamata sent to François de Bondy
Single leaf written on both sides and addressed to novelist, François de Bondy, to congratulate him on his recent work entitled, 'Les douces flèches' ['The Sweet Arrows]', whose theme she finds "rare". She specifies that, "given the times, your novel becomes an act of courage, strength and almost scathing independence!" She closes her letter by expressing her, "great pleasure at not being forgotten at the end of the alphabet", and signs it 'Kikou Yamata'. Yamata (1897-1975), was a French-born writer who was the daughter of diplomat Tadazumi Yamada and Marguerite Varon.
