[Japan] Impressive, hand-coloured, medium format photo of a Japanese lady wearing a Western outfit that appears to be made of silk. A similar photo of another lady in what seems to be the identical dress can be seen on p.174 of Terry Bennett's groundbreaking book, 'Photography in Japan 1853-1912' (Tuttle Publishing, 2006). Numbered '308' in Japanese at lower left in negative.
