One Hundred Glimpses of Japan by Takeno Asayoshi
[Japan] Suprisingly scarce book with 100 photos quality half-tone photographs of numerous views in Japan. First published in 1898, this is the corrected 5th edition of 1906. There appears to have been a 3rd edition published in 1900 but we have never seen copies of any edition previously. Each photo is described on the facing page in English and Japanese. Some of the photos are uncommon views. Only 4 copies at institutes in Japan of this edition.
