[Japan] Group of five volumes from this impressive series of 20 books titled 'Shin Zuan' [literally, 'New Designs'] that was edited and published from 1891-1892 by Nakayasu Shinzaburō (1860-1932). Each volume is filled with colourful designs and include artwork by Kamisaka Sekka, Umemura Keizan, Tanaka Gekkō, Tabata Kakudo, Okumura Kōsen, Sakata Yuho, Kobayashi Baisen, Ueno Seikō, Hitomi Renjō, and others.

In good condition. Covers are worn and a bit darkened. These books were designed to be looked at and clearly have been. Each with small 'Not for sale' stamp in Japanese at rear. Some marks and corners a bit bumped. Old company ownership stamps of Okada Tōbei of Kyoto on each cover except for Vol.10. b36051620
