The Tale of the Ghost Ship - Yōkaisen by Wilhelm Hauff
[Japan] Very scarce Japanese edition of The Tale of the Ghost Ship that was originally written by the German poet and novelist, Wilhelm Hauff (1802-1827), whose life was cut short by typhoid fever at just 24 years old. Illustrated with two very nice woodblock prints and decorative woodblock printed covers, the book was translated by Takahashi Reigorō. Only one copy in Japan at Kyushu University in Japan and another at the National Diet Library in Tokyo.

In very good condition. Covers a bit worn and corners with minor loss at tips. Internally very good. Rear cover with one ink stain that goes through to inside rear cover. Otherwise very good. b36041597
