Woodblock Printed Triptych of Inubōsaki Lighthouse in Chiba by Utagawa Kuniteru II
[Japan] An impressive woodblock printed triptych of the newly opened Inubōsaki Lighthouse located in Chōshi City in present-day Chiba prefecture. The lighthouse was designed by Scotsman Richard Henry Brunton and opened in 1874. This print would date from around that time. The lighthouse still stands today and is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan.

In very good condition. Some minor age wear and toning. A few stray marks and a couple of tiny repairs at top of centre and right panels. Otherwise very good. Unbacked with nice bleedthrough. u36041593
