Large Format Photo of Two Japanese Ladies Attributed to Kanamaru Genzo
[Japan] A very nice albumen photo of two Japanese ladies in kimono next to a table with a vase of flowers on it. This photo was in an album with a number of photos that appear to have been taken by Kanamaru Genzo (1832-1908), who learned photography from Shima Tokoku before opening his own studio in Asakusa, Tokyo in 1868. The original caption in French that was affixed under photo in the album reads, 'Types de Japonaises'.
