Acrobats from Central India Performing in Yokohama by Utagawa Yoshitora
[Japan] Two very interesting woodblock prints showing acrobats apparently from 'Central India' performing in Yokohama in 1864. Yoshitora (active 1850-1880) produced some lovely work. This is one from a series of at least three single prints that he made (and these prints are not from a triptych but are each complete as issued).
Each 35.8 x 24.3cm.
In good condition. Some age wear and minor darkening with a few marks. Remnants of tape on rear at corners so the prints were probably framed in the past. Unbacked with nice bleedthrough. u35101478
