[Japan] Interesting work containing sixteen unbacked woodblock prints of famous Japanese emperors, artists, and scholars. The personages featured are Emperor Ninkō (1800-46), Emperor Kōkaku (1771-1840), Emperor Kōmei (1831-67), Takano Chōei (1804-50), Sakai Hōitsu (1761-1829), Kariya Ekisai (1775-1835), Sanjo Sanetsumu (1802-59), Tani Bunchō (1763-1841), Tokugawa Iemochi (1846-66), Shibano Ritsuzan (1736-1807), Ii Naosuke (1815-60), Katō Chikage (1735-1808), Otsuki Heisen (1773-1850), Kamo Kunpei (1768-1813), Santō Kyōden (1761-1816), and Go Gekkei (dates unknown). The title in Japanese is, 'Meika Shozo Taikan'. Only two copies at institutes in Japan.
