Kawakami's Henna Reader Woodblock printed by Kawakami Sumio
[Japan] Kawakami Sumio (1895-1972) printed and published a number of woodblock printed books in his own unique style. This rather humorous and henna [strange] reader, with decorative covers, contains just fifteen short sentences in English and Japanese, including, 'I am a man', 'She is a nice girl', 'I love her', 'He loves her, too', 'Ladies are fond of dogs', 'What's the matter with you?', and the very useful, 'God damn'!
