Two Guides to Korea by Kavanaugh & Co. Very scarce and in fine condition
[Korea] A pair of Kavanaugh & Co. General Commission Agents catalogues from circa 1918-1920. They were issued shortly after John Kavanaugh's death in 1918, and just before W.W. Taylor acquired the business. Except for the colour of the covers, the catalogues are identical. Kavanaugh cleverly combined a guide book with illustrations of the antique furniture available for sale.

Each 44pp + 9 leaves of photographic plates. 17.3 x 13cm.
Both in about fine condition. On the title page of the catalogue with red covers, where it was originally printed "Kavanaugh Shokwai", this has been neatly crossed out and the the word "Successor", has been written. In the other catalogue, the word "Shokwai" has been crossed out, and in cursive is written "Shoten." Also, the address "Hasegawa-Cho" has been crossed out and "P.O. Box 24" has been added.
