Cabinet Card of Mrs Anne P. Randolph founder of Kinjo Gakuin University

[Japan] Scarce cabinet card photo of US educator Elizabeth Anne Priscilla Edgar Randolph (1827-1902), more commonly known as Annie E. Randolph. After having lived in China, she visited an old friend in Kobe around 1888 and decided Japan was good for her health. She moved to Nagoya and established an institution for ladies called Kinjo Gakuin University in 1889, which still exists today. Due to health issues, she returned to the US in 1892.
