Kachi Kachi Yama - Scarce Newspaper Supplement Issue using Hasegawa's edition by David Thompson
[Japan] Scarce newspaper supplement containing 'Kachi-Kachi Yama', one of Hasegawa Takejiro's fairy tales, in English and Japanese. This was clearly published in order to help Japanese people learn English as we can see that the English text has the okurigana (katanana pronunciation) of each word. The supplement was made for the 'Eiri Jiyu Shimbun' ['The Liberal - Illustrated Newspaper'] and even has a colophon mentioning David Thompson as the translator and Hasegawa as the publisher of the fairy tale. The Japanese text was by Hiro Kodo.
