The Commission of H.M.S. 'Barfleur'. 1895-98. published in Nagasaki
[Japan] Scarce book covering the voyage of H.M.S. Barfleur (launched 1892 and scrapped in 1910) from the Mediterranean to her appointment on the China Station in 1898 by W.H. Palmer L. Sig. R.N. The full title is, ’A Review of the Commission of H.M.S. "Barfleur" on the Mediterranean and China Stations 1895-98'. Palmer mentions in the preface that he had thought he was writing the book with two other shipmates but it turned out it was only he. Also, he asks readers to excuse any grammatical errors as he only had a very elementary education. In fact, the book is very readable and interesting. The humorous, fold-out map in the rear is present as issued.
