Shuko Monyo - Japanese Woodblock Printed Design Books Complete set of 5 volumes
[Japan] Scarce set of 5 orihon volumes containing a huge array of Japanese patterns and designs, woodblock printed in colour by Kawarazaki Kodo. Single volumes appear sometimes but this is the first complete set we have seen, probably because the books were published individually over a 3-year period just prior to the Second World War.
Kyoto. Unsodo. Vol.1 (Aug 1939), Vol.2 (Apr 1940), Vol.3 (Sep 1940), Vol. 4 (Sep 1941), Vol.5 (Dec 1941).
each 26pp. 30.6 x 21.8cm.
In good condition. Covers worn and with minor damage, mostly at edges. Volumes 1 and 2 with evidence of lable at top right of covers removed. Volume 3 has some minor loss at lower left edge but no designs are affected. Internally very good with only general age wear. b33070988
