Very Scarce CDV of the First Japanese Embassy to Europe taken by Nadar in Paris

[Japan] Superb CDV showing members of the 1862 Embassy to Europe while in Paris. The mission was led by Shibata Sadataro (sitting) and the other members in the photo standing from left to right are: Mori Hachitaro, Hidaka Keizaburo, Ueda Yusuke, Ota Genzaburo, Fukuchi Genichiro, Kawasaki Domin, and Tachi Kosaku. Nadar, whose real name was Gaspard-Felix Tournachon, became a very well-known photographer. Mounted on Nadar's studio card with the 'N' printed in red and the embossed 'N' at lower right. Studio address on rear.
