The Rabbits' Dream of Peaceful Rest Woodblock printed triptych by Kobayashi Eitaku
[Japan] Lovely, unusual woodblock printed triptych by Kobayashi (Sensai) Eitaku (1843-1890) showing the stark differences between good and evil rabbit sellers. The rabbits in the prints are shown in various predicaments as they are attacked by evil figures (in red) and protected by good figures (in white). A few rabbits lay dead while others have survived and a cat runs with a poor rabbit in its mouth. A fascinating woodblock print full of action.
