The Evangelization of Japan & Les Geshikuya Au Japon by Claudius Ferrand
[Japan] Two lovely booklets illustrated with quality collotype photos published by French missionary Claudius Ferrand (1868-1930), who established a number of dormitories or 'student houses' ('geshukuya' in Japanese) in Japan. One booket is titled, 'The Evangelization of Japan', and is in English. The other titled, 'Les Geshikuya [sic] Au Japon', is in French. Both explain Ferrand's ideas on spreading Christianity and end with requests for help in the form of donations. The French booklet also has a one-page, double-sided sheet in English also explaining his ideas and the costs.
