Large format photo of Meiji Emperor's Temporary Lodging Site Hand-coloured albumen photo
[Japan]. Scarce image showing a building that was used to accommodate the Meiji Emperor during an official visit. Such places were called 'Anzaisho' as the sign on the left reads. Possibly taken at Yokosuka but it is difficult to know. There is a photo of the railway station at Yokohama on the rear (though the colouring is not great).
