The Ord Tale of Tongue Cotted Sparrow [sic] Very scarce and obscure Osaka edition

The Tongue-Cut Sparrow (Japanese fairy tale). Written by Hayashi Hiroyuki. The story in this crepe paper book differs from the Hasegawa version in that the old woman becomes a good person after learning her lesson on greed whereas in the Hasegawa edition she is torn to pieces by the demons in the basket.

Osaka. Matsumuro Yachizo. 1900.

In good condition. Notoriously hard to find in very good shape due to the quality of paper used. Some darkening and general age wear throughout but still good. Minor creasing to a few pages.
