Bird's Eye View Map of Japan by Kuwagata Keisai (Kitao Masayoshi)
Keisai's classic and pioneering map showing Japan from above. At the top right we can see Hokkaido and then curving down to the left the main island of Honshu followed by Shikoku and Kyushu. A lovely map ready to be hung.
Late Edo era (c1840).
Map itself is 58.5 x 38.5cm and is mounted on a larger scroll.
In good condition with minor wear and a few stray marks. Slightly darkened perhaps.
