Fascinating little pocket book published in Japan as part of a New Century Pocket Series. Firts published in 1909, this is the 2nd edition. Owned by a Keio University graduate named T. Suzuki who has written his name neatly on the cover along with some notes on the ffep, 'T. Suzuki. At Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii. March 21st, 1914', as well as on the title page, 'On leaving Japan. November 5th, 1913. Keio University. From city and from country we all gather here today to gain an education that through all our life will stay. To city and to country we shall some time haste (sic) away filled with the knowledge of Keio. The pen! The pen! How might (sic) is the pen! The pen! The pen! The sign of Keio men! To city and to country we shall some time haste (sic) away filled with knowledge of Keio.' And on the final endpaper, 'Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. T. Suzuki'.
