Guide Book of Yedo - The Tokio Guide The first English guidebook to Tokyo
Aside from the early directories that contained outlines of cities in Japan, Keeling's Guide to Japan (1880) is considered to be the first English guide book to Japan. Then Satow & Hawes' 1881 guide was the first comprehensive work on travelling Japan. Both books are very scarce. This scarce work, though brief, predates Keeling's Guide by 6 years.
