Descriptive Catalogue of The Yokohama Nursery Co. Ltd. Nice group of Five Catalogues
[Japan] A group of 5 catalogues from the well-known Yokohama Nursery Co. Ltd that was founded in 1890 and is still in business today. The catalogues are for 1917-18, 1920, 1922-23, 1924, and 1926-27. The 1917-18 catalogue mentions the slower shipping times due to WWI and the 1924 catalogue tells readers that the nursery has mostly recovered from the devastation of the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake. The 1922-23 catalogue has a woodblock printed cover. Interestingly, the catalogues also list available books and publications relating to flowers etc. that the nursery also sold.
Each Yokohama. Suzuki Hamakichi. 1917-1927. Each catalogue has from about 60pp to 110pp.
Each approx. 26 x 18.7cm.
In surprisingly good condition. The string binding of the 1926-27 catalogue is a bit loose. Otherwise all are in very good condition with only minor age wear and a few stray marks. b36031583
