The Club Hotel, Limited. Guide Book of Yokohama, Tokyo and the Principal Places in Japan
[Japan] Scarce guidebook to Japan published by The Club Hotel of Yokohama. There was an 1890 edition written by Douglas Sladen and this later edition is clearly an updated version. Although undated, the book can be dated to c1900 as we can confirm the dates of residence in Japan of some of the names of proprietors etc. listed in the Japan Directories of the era. Also, the title page has the name and date of 1901 written at the top as well as an interesting ownership stamp indicating the owner was a French man. We have been unable to decipher the name however. Although there is no reference to a map, there was probably one in the rear pocket, but this is not present here.
