Ukiyoe Triptych of 4 People with Inro Visible by Toyokuni III (Utagawa Kunisada)
Impressive, colour woodblock printed triptych showing a samurai and attendant as well as a lady and one other man as well as some beautiful morning glory flowers. The title of the triptych is, 'Edo Murasaki Azuma no Utsushie'. Although a netsuke is not visible, the samurai in the centre panel has an inro hanging from his kimono sash (obi) which is very unusual to see in a ukiyoe print.
