Book of Kumadori Kabuki Make up with 19 lovely designs
Interesting, accordion-style book of different types of kumadori make-up used in kabuki plays. Only a few colours are used for kumadori makeup. Black is simply used to exaggerate features, such as eyebrows and the line of the mouth whereas red is used for powerful hero roles, blue to represent a villain, and brown for monsters and non-human spirits, such as oni (demons). The designs are printed (not woodblock printed) and affixed to each page.

In good condition. Coves work at edges and covering starting to separate but this is easily repairable. Internally some age wear and a few marks.
