The First English-Japanese Dictionary of Idioms by brothers Obata Tokujiro & Jinzaburo

Pioneering dictionary of English idioms that is surprisingly good as it contains numerous idiomatic expressions that are actually useful. Obata Tokujiro (1842-1905) and his younger brother Jinzaburo (1846-1873) were supporters of Fukuzawa Yukichi and Keio University. Jinzaburo apparently died of a mental illness at 26 while studying in the US. The Japanese title being 'Eibun Jukugoshu'.

In good to very good condition. Covers worn with some writing. Original title slip present but a little stained. Internally very good with only one page with some minor scribble in the top margin.
